About the League:
TPPW is a league open to eligible kids that live within the Torrey Pines High School boundaries only. (ages 6 to 15)
Participation in TPPW requires a substantial time commitment from both football players and cheerleaders. The season begins August 1st with practice five days a week, 2 hours per day for tackle teams and three days a week, 1 1/2 or 2 hours per day for flag teams. Actual practice schedules are determined by the head coach of each team. In September, we switch to a three day practice schedule with games typically on Saturday beginning the first week of September. Home games will be played at Torrey Pines High School. The season ends on or before Thanksgiving weekend depending on how far your team advances in the playoffs.
Torrey Pines Pop Warner Boundaries
Overall, our boundaries are the Torrey Pines-San Dieguito Union High School District. Any student who is living in this high school district and is in the subsection of the district assigned to Torrey Pines High School is eligible for TPPW.
Geographic: Cities of Del Mar, Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe (including Fairbanks Ranch), and Carmel Valley (including Sorrento Hills). Southern boundary is the Los Penasquitos Creek and the Eastern boundary is Via Abertura (east boundary of Fairbanks Ranch and Rancho Santa Fe Farms subdivisions).
Away games:
Pre Season games are usually held the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend. The regular season begins the following Saturday. TPPW is a member of the Palomar Pop Warner Conference, which may require travel to the following league's fields:
Carlsbad, Escondido, Fallbrook, Murrietta, Oceanside, Ramona, Rancho Bernardo, San Dieguito, San Marcos, Temecula, Valley Center, Vista and Menifee.
Torrey Pines Stadium
Please keep in mind that Torrey Pines High and Coach Ashby have been extremely generous in letting TPPW use the school field for home games. Their only requirement is that we limit the number of people on their field (which includes the track) to only those coaches, players and assistants on the team's official roster. This is actually a national Pop Warner regulation enforced at almost every field you attend.
Therefore, no one is allowed on the field before, during, and after a game unless they are on the playing team's roster. Everyone else must remain in the stands. Any TPPW team or league that can not follow this simple rule will be banned from playing on the Torrey Pines High School field.
Torrey Pines Field Rules
1) No one is allowed on the field or track before, during, and after a game unless they are on the team's official roster. Everyone else must remain in the stands.
2) No food is allowed on the field - especially gum and sunflower seeds. Teams will need to enter the stands for half-time snacks and post-game snacks.
3) Please keep all children off of the embankments and off of the running track.
4) Please do not enter the track/field area unless you have a badge to do chains or are a coach.
5) Please do not drive up the back driveway and park behind the locker rooms or in the faculty parking lot. The JV and Varsity coaches are working on Saturday mornings watching tapes and they do not appreciate getting blocked in. Please park in the large student parking lot or in the front lot.
6) Please do not leave any trash in the stadium. Please carry out everything you carry in.
7) Please exhibit good sportsmanship and represent Torrey Pines in a positive manner.
Please respect our High School, we are very fortunate to be able to play in such a spectacular stadium.

Frequently Asked Questions FAQ:
Team Assignments:
Players will receive a priority number with their paid registration. Palomar Conference Rules now allow all returning players priority to play over new players as long as they register within 30 days from the first registration date. Returning players DO NOT need to attend the first registration day to receive priority on their tracking team. A returning player is a player that was on a certified roster the previous year.
New players are assigned to a roster based on the Player Evaluations and Draft Policy. Any child who does not make a team roster will be notified of being placed on a waiting list. You will then have the option to remain on the waiting list or receive an immediate refund. Wait listed players are the only players eligible for a refund. It is important that you read and complete all of the forms carefully. Participant Contract must be completed by you and the Physical Examination Form must be completed by a physician as proof of physical fitness to participate in the program. The physical must be dated after January 1, 2007 and must be signed, on the form provided, by your physician.

Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. (PWLS) is the only national youth sports organization in America that requires its participants to perform adequately in the classroom before permitting them to play. They believe that these standards give children a sense of responsibility and an appreciation for academics and athletics that will help them develop later on in life.
Proof of satisfactory progress in school is required. A 2.0/70% or the equivalent shall be the minimum grade point average acceptable to participate. In cases of doubt or conflict of opinion, a written statement by the school administration shall be deemed final.

Refund Policy:
Effective starting the 2003 season, it is the policy of TPPW to not offer a refund to any player that can be assigned a team once registered. Any player assigned to the wait list will forfeit their right to a refund once accepting a position on a team. The league incurs most of the expense of a registered player long before the season begins, therefore REGISTRATION FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE!
Boundaries and Eligiability Policy:
The goal of this policy is to give priority to local kids that want to participate in Torrey Pines Pop Warner. Players outside our boundaries have the option to play in their local league and are encouraged to pursue that venue first.
1. TPPW is a league open to eligible kids that live within the Torrey Pines High School boundaries only.
2. Football players and cheerleaders outside of these boundaries are welcome to register but will not be drafted onto a team until all local players are placed on teams.
3. The only exception is grandfathered players (e.g. returning players outside our boundaries on a TPPW certified roster from the previous year).
Equipment Policy:
TPPW Equipment can only be used during sanctioned Pop Warner events. Football camps, private lessons and parties (to name a few) are not sanctioned events and are not covered under the Pop Warner insurance policy. We will not, and can not, supply any equipment for football camps, private lessons, parties or any other non sanctioned Pop Warner event. Any individuals who use TPPW equipment in such fashion shall be held 100% liable for any and all injuries and damages. Failure to return equipment and or uniforms will result in a $250 charge.
Registration Paperwork Deadline Policy:
The final deadline to receive ALL paperwork is two weeks prior to the first day of practice. Please note that any paperwork received after this deadlne will not be processed until the second week of practice. Refer to the Registration Checklist above for a list of required paperwork. We will have to remove the player from their team roster. The first wait-listed player (with completed paperwork) will be added to the roster. If no wait list exists then they can rejoin the team in the second week of practice, assuming all paperwork is received. Parents should contact the team coach to ensure their paperwork has been collected. Updated check lists will be sent to coaches the last three Mondays before first practice.
Grievance Policy:
Any interested party, who wishes to address a concern or file a grievance with the Board of Directors, must do so in writing within 10 days of the issue. The complaint should be mailed to:

Travel Fund Policy: Revised 11/7/05
A travel fund has been established for football teams and cheer squads advancing to National Pop Warner Finals in Florida. The funds are not to be used for Invitational games, Bowl games or cheer events such as Jams. The funds are only intended for teams traveling to Nationals. The funds will be given to the head coach for distribution. Below are the approved allocations.
40% of total travel funds will be allocated if 1 team advances.
80% of total travel funds will be allocated, divided equally, if more than one team advances.
This will ensure that at least 20% of the travel funds will be carried over to the following year.
Proceeds to this fund include 100% of concession's profit and excess profit from Kick-off budget.
